From humble beginnings, a fiery ambition set ablaze inside of Small Boss The Don. At just 7 years old Small Boss became determined to earn his spot in Hip-Hop history. A dream, seen by friends, family, and strangers alike as nothing more than a fantasy; something most people wrote-off as an impossibility.
Founding and incorporating his company Black Tie Records in 2011, Boss then released 10 mixtapes and self titled EP, Small Boss, which was instantly met with positive reviews, earning 500k+ streams worldwide.
the New York City born artist documents his journey to success on his dEbut studio album, Colors From Over The Wall. The project follows Small Boss over the past 2 years of his life. Starting with a goodbye to an ex-girlfriend, we see Small Boss as he navigates through everyday life as an early twenty-something in New York City, and the life of an artist-producer fighting, against all odds, to live out his dream.
Combining the lyricism and authenticity of old with the sounds and stylings of the new era, Small Boss and his collaborators deliver a genre-bending album that, as a first entry, sets a high bar for the rest of his career. Alongside co-producer Billy Childz and an array of talented musicians, Small Boss produced the album at Sabella Studios in Roslyn, NY and renowned engineer Chris Athens handled the project's mastering.
Since the age of 7, Small Boss has hand-carved a path for himself in the music industry as he continues to pursue his spot in Hip-Hop history. With his full-length dEbut, Colors From Over The Wall, now released worldwide, the future looks bright for Small Boss The Don as he looks ahead toward his sophomore LP.
